Amsterdam

I have just arrived in Amsterdam where can perform some MLPA kit development and tests. This collaboration is a very important part of my project since the academy-industry collaboration, internationality and innovation were all highly preferred aspects when the proposals were reviewed. The MRC-Holland is the absolute leader in this field and I really enjoy staying here and working with these very nice people representing a wide range of cultural backgrounds.

London Underground's 150th anniversary

On 9 January 2013, London Underground (and the Google :-) )celebrated 150 years since the first underground journey took place between Paddington and Farringdon on the Metropolitan Railway.

Snow

Since Friday, the snow has been falling almost continuously. The landscape is beautiful but the traffic is absolutely stuck. 'Health and Safety' is the most important phrase so a lot of train, bus and tram services are cancelled. Fortunately, it's not a problem for me since the institute is only 15 minutes walk from our home. See some pictures made from the house.

New Year

Happy New Year to everybody!

After taking the Christmas break, I feel myself like a lazy coach potato. We really enjoyed visiting our family and friends in Hungary. Hungarian Cuisine is much different from English one which I think doesn't really exist. All the meals are from the areas conquered in the past, like India, etc. So back to Hungary, we ate a lot and the food often wasn't in accordance with reform diet :-) Anyway, this is something closely associated with this cosy time period. Today, I tried to pick myself up at the Institute because of the upcoming deadlines of abstract submissions. There will be some scientific conferences this year I'm planning to attend so need to complete my previous work and draft the summary of the results.
